Ziv: Hey, I’m Ziv. This is “On the Journey”.  Every week “On the Journey” explores intersections of wellness, spirituality, mental health, personal growth and purposeful living through the eyes of the people we interview.

And today, I’m happy to host Danielle. That is going to tell us about empowering women, moms and let’s hear it from you Danielle, welcome!

Danielle: Hi. Thank you so much. I’m honored to be here and I’m excited to share a bit about me.

Ziv: You’re into empowering women? I think empowerment in general is important and sometimes tricky. So can you tell us about it? Why did you choose empowering? How does it work? What did you do?

Danielle. Ok.  Please excuse the pun in the background. I’m having some work done in the house and it’s just literally a nightmare.

Ziv: We are all in the same boat.

Danielle: Exactly. The way that I got into this, I was a young mom, so I started my family when I found out I was pregnant with my first child when I was 19. What kind of happened after that? I’m twenty four. Very young mom and my career, life, path kind of stopped. And I went all into becoming a mom. I just did what I needed to do to make ends meet and keep a roof over our heads.

And I kind of lost myself a little bit in that. Before that, I’d always want it. I’m very independent. I always want my own business, to be my own boss, to run my own show, kind of thing. And it just didn’t happen. I felt like I was thrown into this whole world of parenthood and being a mom, I always had this calling and I wasn’t just put on this earth to be a mom, to be a mom, like I wanted to be more than just mom.

And so I started my business in my mid-twenties. Since then, it’s just opened doors to allow me to share what I know, share my experience, share my story with all the women and help them as well.

Because I thought if I’m feeling like this, if I felt like this, if I’ve experienced this, then I know all the women out there have to. I built my own online business that is completely nothing to do with what I do now, actually.

It was in the multilevel marketing industry, but it just gave me a taste and a slice of that freedom and that flexibility that I craved to be able to on my own ship, to sell my own ship. So it was probably about two years ago now that I started the ball rolling to retrain in the coaching world.

Obviously, being in the network marketing industry, I experienced quite a lot of success, big teams of women that I empowered, inspired, led and coached anyway. I already had the experience in the coaching world as far as that was concerned. It was when I started wanting to go off on my own journey and really reached out and empowerment and business coaching and mindset coaching and really helping women with their struggles of transitioning from that just mom to have any all.

Just because you're a mom, it doesn't mean that you have a mom in your life should be stunted or your growth should be stunted. You can still grow as your own person. Share on X

Instead of just being mom, I was now Danielle again. You know what? I could be Danielle again. And I know that there’s other women out there that feel that as well. I can be Danielle and Mom and have it all. And I’m now here to tell all the women that they come to.

Ziv: Amazing. That’s a double step on this transition and mindset, because at least it is an observer. Being a mom is an impossible mission. I don’t know how it can happen, but still it happens every day to so many people. You’re a mom, which is an almost impossible mission, sp demanding, so challenging. And then you need to change your mindset that you can be and do other things. How do you do it?

What’s the first step?

Danielle: The first step is acknowledging that you you have a dream to do something else that you want to do something else and then, is taking the step is actually just like regardless of, the obstructions that I place in front of me, it’s just knowing that you will making that decision to do it regardless.

I’m going to try, regardless of how I feel, what obstructions are in front of me, how many people around me are objecting because I don’t believe anything in life not come easy. You’ve got to work on what you want.

It doesn’t have to be physically or mentally draining if you don’t want it to be. It just means that the decision sometimes in the beginning is the hardest bit. You have to take that step. And once you take that step and you make that decision, I’m going to do this. I’m going to try regardless.

I believe that because of a spiritual point of view as well,

You make that decision and the universe will reward you for that. Share on X

Opportunity will arise, doors will open, people will come into your life. And have they said to me a few times before, I’ve just decided, and then all of a sudden you pop to come on newsfeed and I know that you are there to help and guide me. Show me the way. And that’s what happens as soon as I made the decision to transition from my old business into the coaching world, full-time.

Doors just opened with a scary thought previous to that same and same in the beginning, before I started my own business being a mom, I had a full time job as well. And I just got married, it was actually in 2014. I’ve just got married in March. I came back from Mexico off the plane, and it was like. Right now, I need too.

I’m married, I’ve got children now, I need to grow personally, and that’s when I made that decision, I’m going to start my own business. I didn’t have a clue in work, I didn’t have any idea what I was going to do, how I was going to do it. It was so many objections for me to do this. But I just made that decision. And all of a sudden the opportunity showed space for the network marketing world.

That’s how I got into it. And it was like it was a no brainer, design from the universe. This is where I was going in and from then was just open. So, I know that it’s that decision making stage that stops.

Ziv: You mentioned that making that decision a couple of times and now you’re helping other women especially moms. What’s the most challenging part in actually making the decision?

I can imagine what can be scary about making the decision, but what’s the biggest step in actually for women and moms to actually take the decision?

Danielle: I think it’s looking at what you really desire and looking at what you really like, you’ve got to have that inside you.

You've got to have a burning desire inside you. Share on X

I believe everybody has that burning desire to want something, like don’t get me wrong, there’s those women out there, there’s people out there that I absolutely like. All they ever want to do is just be a mom. They don’t want to work. They don’t wanna run a business. They’re not my idea. They’re not the people that inspire them.

The people that I empower, I don’t need to let them empower themselves are amazing women all by themselves. But those women, which are my ideal clients, are the people that I work with, are the people that I spend most of my time with now. They are now 100 percent happy with the life that they’ve got, they have the mom guilt.

They feel guilty for even wanting something else, feeling that they should be fulfilled because they give birth to children. But it’s not the case with many women. They’ve got the desire inside of them.

The decision making process is hard. Iit gets to a point where that desire it’s harder to live with and to make the decision.

Ziv: Definitely. This desire grows inside and at some point it’s strong enough for me to say, OK. I want to do it! So, there is a decision and then what happens?

Danielle: It’s a case of you reach out like or somebody will find you, somebody like me will find you. Social media is amazing. Now we’re constantly given opportunities. Things come up in front of us.

I’m a massive believer in being intuitively led. I think if you come across somebody that you deal with, that you resonate with, that you relate to, then they are the people that nine out of ten of the ones that are there to help you or to guide you. They’ve been put there for a reason and you will be intuitively drawn to them.

Me to my clients and my clients to me. And that’s how I find it. Obviously, I do all the business stuff of the marketing and the strategies and all of that book and the sales.

But I’m not a hot seller. I don’t chase people. I’m not what we call a spammy mommy, in our industry. I’m not one of those people. I’m there. I will share my knowledge. I will share my expertise. I would give value. The people that are drawn to me because they are intuitively drawn to me. That’s something about my business they connect to and that’s how I feel.

I believe that when the time is right, when that decision is made, somebody like me will show up to help and guide them the next day to find help, will get help and and allow somebody to guide you in the right direction, like you’re not supposed to do it all on your own.

I mean, I’m quite an independent person. Previous to going into business, I believed I could do anything myself and that I didn’t need help and I didn’t need guidance and I would find that training and I would find that. To be fair, it’s only been the last probably five years that I really understood the value of having a coach, the value of having somebody to just hold your hand and guide you, whether it’s paid or free.

Just follow somebody that you relate to that understands your story, has maybe a similar story to you that is maybe not that far out in front of you, where you want to go, so that you can follow their lead, so to speak. Find a leader, I suppose, find leaders in the next stage.

Ziv: Find the leader. Thank you, Danielle. Maybe the last question, because our time is running out.

The last question is you working in helping people to make a change in their life. And I think change is one of the most difficult things, for most people to change.

What would be your advice? When someone made the decision, wants to do it, but like it was two years ago, it was three years ago, and that decision was made and the change is too difficult.

What should they do?

Danielle: I see this is where you’ve got to get help, there’s no other. If you are still in the decision stage of just making decisions, you haven’t taken a foot forward. You haven’t taken that second step, shall we say. You’ve got to find help. You’ve got to find a coach, a therapist or somebody that can help get into your mindset, help you unpack those self limiting beliefs that are stopping you. You’ve obviously got a blockage.

You’ve got something that’s stopping you from moving forward yourself. You won’t understand if you’ve made the decision, you understand that change is coming and change needs to happen. You get what you want. You’ve got to find help. You’ve got to find that hand to hold to guide you through.

That person, whether it be myself, somebody else, a coach or therapist in the industry, in the mindset industry and the self limits and beliefs industry, somebody in the coaching industry that can hold your hand and guide you through the steps that you need to take.

You've got to reprogram your brain. You can reprogram your mind. You've got to do the work on yourself. Share on X

But if you’re finding it hard to do by yourself, then the inevitable question is the statement you’ve got to go and get some help. You’ve got to go and find somebody that can help you, change that. If you’ve made a decision two years ago, it’s not working by yourself, you’re not doing it by yourself. And if that’s the case, then it’s how it helps and guidance is what you need.

Ziv: Thank you, Danielle.

You need to do the work on your own, but you don't need to do it alone. Share on X

That’s the bottom line. Thank you, Danielle. Thank you so much for this interview, for all your insights and knowledge. It was a pleasure.

Danielle: Thank you so much.
